No, I am not talking about the beginning of the semester.
No, I am not talking about the time to break resolutions.
No, I am not talking about Valentine's Day.
And no, I am not talking about St. Patrick's day.
I'm talking about that wonderful time of year when, at USC, and in most places in South Carolina, girls begin saving their pennies for over-priced dresses that will be ruined in one weekend and hats that should have their own zip code. Guys, on the other hand, are saving up for seersucker suits and monogrammed bowties that they will never ever ever wear again.
What is this strange, foreign tradition?
The Carolina Cup.
This year, it will be on March 27, 2010. I will be attending, of course, but, seeing as how I have limited funding for this event, I will have to take a more fiscally responsible approach than most. I would love to wear the traditional garb--a Lily Pulitzer dress or a custom frock from local designer Annabelle LaRoque, (who I worship, btw--I met her one time when I modeled one of her dresses and she was so nice) but I believe I will have to come up with something different.
Any ideas??? I'm at a loss.
Keep it classy and fabulous!
xoxo, Laura
