Headbands are a classic look, though the styling of them has changed throughout the years. But the love of headbands has remained strong. Check out these old-school pics:
Oh hey, girl with the bow and girl in the top right corner. Nice headbands. (Taken at a sorority party in the 1950s.)
Hard to see, but the DZ girl on the left is rocking a headband. (Rep, honey...rep.) By the way, this was taken at Miami University in the 1960s, when Pi Kappa Alpha (PIKE) and Delta Zeta won Delta Tau Delta's Soapbox Derby. (BTW, Miami is my mother's Alma Mater, and also the place Delta Zeta was founded.)
Nowadays, we like our headbands in all kinds of ways--I like to wear headbands with feathers, rhinestones, and other wild embellishments. Some people go for a simple skinny black headband. Others fall somewhere in between, with printed Vera Bradley or J. Crew headbands.
However they wore them, one truth remains: Sorority girls love their headbands. :)
Keep it classy and fabulous!
